President Droupadi Murmu Hails Indian Community in Romania, Boosts Expanding Bilateral Ties
President Droupadi Murmu praised the Indian community in Romania during her State Visit, highlighting their contribution to bilateral ties and emphasizing expanding cooperation in trade, defence, technology, education, healthcare, and investment.
The President said that Indians living abroad remain deeply connected to their motherland and make every Indian proud through their achievements and dedication.
She said that her interactions with Romanian President Nicușor Dan and other leaders reflected a strong commitment to taking bilateral ties to new heights. According to the President, cooperation between India and Romania has expanded across a wide range of sectors, including trade, defence, renewable energy, digital technology, education, research, healthcare, science and technology, artificial intelligence, innovation, and advanced manufacturing.
Referring to the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement concluded earlier this year, President Murmu said its early implementation would open new avenues for trade and investment with Romania and other European Union member states. She also highlighted the productive discussions held during the India-Romania Business Forum, where a high-level Indian business delegation explored opportunities for deeper economic engagement.
President Murmu appreciated the valuable contribution of Indian professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers, healthcare workers, and students to Romania’s development. She also thanked the Government and the people of Romania for warmly welcoming the Indian community and ensuring their safety and well-being.
The President’s address underscored the growing momentum in India-Romania relations, highlighting the Indian community’s role in strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors and reinforcing the expanding partnership between the two nations.
