Woman, BMTC Driver Beat Alleged Molester on Bengaluru Bus as Viral Video Sparks Debate

A woman allegedly molested on a BMTC bus in Bengaluru confronted the accused, leading to an altercation in which the bus driver intervened. The viral video has drawn attention, but police and BMTC officials say no formal complaint has been filed so far.

A case of alleged molestation aboard a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus has surfaced in Karnataka's capital, Bengaluru, after a woman passenger accused a fellow commuter of inappropriately touching her while the bus was in motion. The woman immediately objected, following which the bus driver intervened.

The incident reportedly took place on July 24 on a BMTC bus travelling from Hebbal to Manyata. According to the details, a woman passenger accused a co-passenger of molestation, triggering a commotion inside the bus shortly after she raised the alarm.

When the accused allegedly attempted to flee, the woman passenger and the bus driver jointly assaulted him before forcing him off the bus. A video of the incident has since gone viral across social media platforms.

However, according to the police and BMTC officials, no formal police complaint has been filed by either party in connection with the incident so far. As a result, the viral video has not yet been independently verified.

According to the video, the incident occurred at around 12:42 p.m. on Friday. The footage appears to show the man's shirt being removed, with it seemingly being taken off by the bus driver.

The driver is then seen standing on his seat and kicking the suspected man. During the altercation, the driver appears to lose his balance and falls down.

The incident has drawn widespread attention after the video circulated online, while the absence of an official police complaint means the matter remains without formal legal proceedings at this stage.
