BKTC Donation Irregularities Case: Suspended Temple Committee Employee Pramod Nautiyal Arrested by Uttarakhand Police
Uttarakhand Police arrested suspended BKTC employee Pramod Nautiyal in the Badrinath temple donation irregularities case. The accused was taken to Badrinath for questioning after an FIR was registered. Multiple inquiry committees are investigating allegations related to donation counting and management at the temple.
Nautiyal is a suspended employee of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC). Police said an FIR was registered against him late Tuesday night. At the time of the alleged irregularities, Nautiyal was serving as the Personal Assistant to the BKTC Chairman.
The BKTC’s four-member inquiry committee had found the allegations of irregularities in donation management against Nautiyal to be prima facie true. The BKTC is a statutory body responsible for managing the Badrinath temple and other shrines across Uttarakhand.
The Uttarakhand government has also constituted its own three-member investigation committee to examine the matter. The Garhwal Division Commissioner is the chairperson of the committee, which will submit its findings and recommendations to the state government.
The matter came into focus after allegations of irregularities during the counting of donations at the Badrinath temple surfaced on social media. Following the allegations, an organisation named Bhairav Sena submitted a complaint demanding an inquiry and registration of an FIR into the case.
The arrest of the suspended BKTC employee marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the alleged donation management irregularities at one of Uttarakhand’s prominent religious shrines. Authorities are continuing their inquiry through multiple investigation panels to determine the facts and take further action based on the findings.
