Strong Opening, Global Acclaim: BYU Ballroom Dance Company Set to Enthrall Indian Audiences with Championship-Winning Performances

Fresh from championship victories at Blackpool, Brigham Young University's internationally acclaimed Ballroom Dance Company will perform in New Delhi and Bengaluru in June 2026. The tour combines world-class ballroom and Latin dance performances with cultural exchanges, community engagement and international friendship initiatives in India.

Having recently secured championship titles at Blackpool, Brigham Young University's internationally acclaimed Ballroom Dance Company is set to bring its celebrated blend of elegance, precision and energy to India this June, with performances scheduled in New Delhi on June 4 and June 6, 2026, and in Bengaluru on June 9, 2026.

Recognized as one of the premier collegiate dance ensembles in the United States, the award-winning company has earned global recognition for its elite performances and dynamic stage presence. The ensemble has captivated audiences across the world through its distinctive presentation of standard ballroom and Latin dance styles, including the Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Cha-cha and Samba.

Indian audiences can expect an evening of world-class entertainment featuring intricate choreography, artistic movement and dazzling costumes. The performances form part of the Company's annual international tour, an initiative designed to promote cultural understanding and strengthen international friendships through the universal language of dance.

The Company's international reputation extends far beyond the stage. During its previous tour, the ensemble performed before His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Her Majesty Queen Suthida in Thailand, Her Royal Highness Preah Reach Botrey Samdech Norodom Arunrasmy in Cambodia, as well as numerous dignitaries and professionals in Vietnam. These appearances reinforced the group's role as a cultural ambassador representing artistic excellence and international engagement.

Speaking ahead of the India tour, Curt Holman, Artistic Director of the Company, expressed enthusiasm about visiting the country and engaging with its rich traditions. He stated that the students are honored to experience India's remarkable culture firsthand and view ballroom dance as a powerful medium capable of transcending language and cultural barriers through movement and music. He added that the dancers are eager not only to present their artistry but also to learn from the people of India.

By special invitation from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the 32 student dancers will participate in cultural exchange activities alongside their stage performances. The visit will include interactions with local artists and community service initiatives, reflecting Brigham Young University's broader commitment to education, cultural dialogue and humanitarian outreach. Organizers believe these engagements will foster meaningful connections that extend beyond the performance venue.

Public interest in the tour has been significant. Complimentary tickets were made available for reservation, with tickets for both New Delhi performances already fully reserved. The Bengaluru performance is scheduled for June 9, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the MLR Convention Center in Whitefield, Bengaluru.
