Mumbai Authorities Demolish Alleged Illegal Religious Structure During Anti-Encroachment Drive in Aarey Colony
Authorities in Mumbai conducted an anti-encroachment operation in Aarey Colony, Goregaon, targeting an alleged illegal religious structure built on government land. The demolition was carried out by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and police after notices were ignored and valid land documents were not submitted, with heavy security deployed during the action.
The action was undertaken jointly by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and police officials after authorities stated that repeated notices issued to the occupants were ignored. Officials also said that no valid documents were presented before the administration to justify the occupation of the land.
Heavy security arrangements were deployed at the site as the operation commenced. Visuals shared by ANI showed bulldozers demolishing the unauthorised structure while police personnel maintained a strong presence in the area to ensure law and order during the exercise.
According to officials, the demolition was initiated as part of the administration’s effort to remove encroachments from government-owned land and enforce compliance with legal and civic regulations.
The operation in Aarey Colony marks another significant enforcement action by civic authorities, highlighting their stance against unauthorised occupation of public land and their commitment to implementing anti-encroachment measures after due administrative procedures.
