Monkey Steals Rs 2 Lakh Cash Bag at Bulandshahr Court, Rains Currency Notes from Tree

The incident occurred on Saturday when Ravindra Lodhi was carrying approximately Rs 2 lakh, largely in Rs 500 denomination notes, to purchase stamp papers near the Bulandshahr district court. Before he could reach his destination, a monkey suddenly grabbed the bag and climbed a nearby neem tree.

After reaching the tree, the monkey tore open the bag and began throwing bundles of currency notes to the ground. The unusual scene quickly attracted lawyers, court employees, and visitors, who rushed to collect the notes fluttering through the air.

In an effort to retrieve the remaining cash, bystanders attempted various methods to lure the animal down. Some threw stones toward the tree, while others offered bananas in an attempt to distract the monkey. As the notes continued to fall, people gathered and returned most of the recovered money.

According to the information available, approximately Rs 1.98 lakh was recovered, although a small amount remained unaccounted for. Despite the brief chaos, the majority of the cash was successfully returned.

The extraordinary incident soon became a talking point among local residents, many of whom described it as another example of the well-known monkey nuisance around the court premises. The event left onlookers amused and quickly turned into a memorable story shared in conversations across the area.
