Mumbai Braces for Traffic Disruptions as Maharashtra Day Parade Triggers Road Closures
Mumbai will face traffic disruptions on May 1 due to Maharashtra Day Parade at Shivaji Park. Key roads including Keluskar Roads will remain closed, while SK Bole Road will have one-way traffic. Authorities urge commuters to plan routes in advance between 6 a.m. and 12 noon.
According to the traffic police, vehicular movement will be regulated from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the vicinity of the parade venue. Key routes including Keluskar Road South and Keluskar Road North will remain completely closed during this period, restricting access to one of the city’s busiest zones.
In addition to the closures, traffic flow on SK Bole Road will be temporarily altered. The stretch between Siddhivinayak Junction and Portuguese Church Junction will operate as a one-way route to manage congestion and ensure smooth movement of vehicles around the event area.
The administration has urged residents and daily commuters to remain alert and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed across affected routes. Authorities emphasized that these measures are necessary to facilitate the smooth conduct of the state-level celebration while ensuring public safety.
The Maharashtra Day Parade remains a significant annual event, drawing large crowds and requiring meticulous planning. The temporary restrictions highlight the scale of arrangements undertaken by the administration, reinforcing the need for public awareness and adherence to traffic advisories during major civic events.
