SRM University–AP Launches AI-Integrated M.Sc. Economics and Psychology Programmes with Scholarships up to 100%
SRM University–AP’s Easwari School of Liberal Arts has launched AI-integrated M.Sc. Economics and M.Sc. Psychology programmes with up to 100% scholarships. The courses blend domain expertise with artificial intelligence, advanced research methods, and practical training to prepare future-ready professionals for evolving global challenges in economics and psychology.
RM University–AP, Amaravati, through its Easwari School of Liberal Arts (ESLA), has launched newly redesigned M.Sc. Economics and M.Sc. Psychology programmes tailored for the era of Artificial Intelligence. These postgraduate courses are structured to equip students with advanced analytical, research, and applied competencies, with strong emphasis on interdisciplinary learning, practical training, and deep integration of AI technologies. The university has also announced scholarships and fee concessions of up to 100% for eligible candidates, ensuring access for high-performing students.
At the launch event, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ch Satish Kumar highlighted the critical need to merge domain expertise with emerging technologies. He stated that the future belongs to professionals who can combine subject knowledge with AI capabilities, noting that disciplines such as economics and psychology now require proficiency in AI tools for analysis, prediction, and decision-making. He emphasized that SRM AP is among the early institutions to implement such integrated postgraduate education to prepare students for real-world challenges and future uncertainties.
Dean of ESLA, Prof. Vishnupad, described the programmes as distinct for embedding AI directly into the curriculum rather than treating it as an additional component. He noted that this marks a key milestone for the school as these are its first postgraduate programmes, reflecting a commitment to innovation in higher education.
The M.Sc. Economics programme integrates economic theory with AI-driven methodologies to address complex global issues. It combines policy frameworks, data science, and computational techniques to generate applied insights. Students may specialize in Finance and Data Science or Development and Policy, with an optional dissertation track for those pursuing research and academic careers, as explained by Dr Boddu Srujana, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics.
The M.Sc. Psychology programme is designed as a research-intensive course addressing increasing demand for psychologists in technology-enabled environments. It combines core psychological science with AI-based applications across mental health, organizational behavior, and educational domains. The curriculum includes advanced research methods, psychometric assessment, machine learning-assisted analysis, and simulation-based intervention planning. Bridge courses have been introduced for students from non-psychology backgrounds to ensure foundational preparedness, as stated by Dr Ayesha Parveen Haroon, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Psychology.
Both programmes offer flexible academic pathways, including a one-year track for students with a four-year undergraduate degree and a two-year track for those with a three-year undergraduate degree. Graduates from diverse academic streams, including Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering and other disciplines, are eligible to apply.
The launch event was attended by Prof. Y Siva Sankar, Director Admissions; Prof. Vandana Swami, Associate Dean, ESLA; Prof. Parag Jayant Waknis, Professor, Department of Economics; Dr Ubaid Mushtaq, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Economics; and Pankaj Belwariar, Director Communications.
These programmes aim to produce future-ready economists and psychologists equipped with strong scientific foundations, analytical expertise, and AI-driven capabilities to contribute effectively to academia, industry, and society.
