Yatra Unveils World’s First AI Travel Assistant Capable of End-to-End Multi-City Trip Planning and Booking

Yatra Online Limited has upgraded its AI travel assistant DIYA, enabling the world’s first fully conversational multi-city trip planning and booking system. The platform creates end-to-end itineraries with flights, hotels, and experiences, transforming complex travel planning into a seamless real-time chat experience across devices.

Yatra Online Limited (Yatra), one of India’s leading online travel companies, has announced a major upgrade to its artificial intelligence-powered travel assistant, DIYA, introducing a breakthrough capability that enables planning and booking of dynamic multi-city travel itineraries across destinations, cities, and countries within a single conversational interface.

The enhanced version of DIYA is positioned as the world’s first AI travel assistant capable of handling complete multi-city journey planning and booking in one continuous chat. The system is now available exclusively across Yatra’s consumer platforms, including web, Android, and iOS applications, marking a significant leap in artificial intelligence-driven travel technology.

Unlike conventional AI travel assistants that are restricted to single-destination queries or require users to switch between multiple platforms to construct a complete itinerary, DIYA enables end-to-end travel planning in a unified conversational flow. The assistant interprets user intent, identifies optimal flight options, recommends hotels across multiple destinations, and generates ready-to-book travel packages. It also curates relevant local experiences tailored to each stop in the itinerary.

Travellers can now input complex travel requirements in natural language, such as planning a seven-day trip covering Bali and Singapore for two passengers, departing from Delhi on July 17. DIYA instantly converts such requests into structured, bookable itineraries, including flights, accommodation across cities, and curated activity recommendations, eliminating the need for manual comparison across platforms or separate itinerary building.

The system supports multiple travel configurations, including one-way multi-city journeys, return trips from the same or different destinations, and full multi-country circular routes. It also recommends hotels at each destination and suggests relevant experiences, significantly reducing travel planning time from hours or days to just minutes.

This advancement builds upon DIYA’s existing capabilities as a generative artificial intelligence-powered travel assistant offering end-to-end trip planning, booking, and post-booking support through chat and voice interfaces in more than 100 languages. The platform leverages advanced artificial intelligence models, including Google’s Gemini, combined with natural language processing, real-time system integrations, and retrieval-augmented generation to deliver personalized and context-aware travel experiences.

Commenting on the development, Siddhartha Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of Yatra Online Limited, stated that the primary challenge in online travel has never been access to options, but the effort required to convert those options into a complete journey. He emphasized that travellers have traditionally had to coordinate across multiple platforms, evaluate numerous choices, and spend significant time planning instead of anticipating their travel experience. He further noted that DIYA represents a major step in closing this gap by delivering a unified, intelligent, and real-time conversational travel experience from initial planning to final booking.

Shakti Goel, Chief Architect and Data Scientist at Yatra Online Limited, added that DIYA leverages the semantic intelligence of large language models to deeply understand traveler intent and sentiment. He explained that the system applies advanced reasoning to generate highly personalized itineraries and dynamic travel packages, identifying optimal flights and hotels in real time while allowing users to continuously refine their plans until they align perfectly with their requirements.

Since its initial launch in August 2025, DIYA has continued to evolve as a consumer-focused artificial intelligence travel assistant, advancing toward fully autonomous end-to-end travel planning. By integrating conversational intelligence with real-time execution across flights, hotels, and experiences, the platform aims to redefine how travelers discover, plan, and book increasingly complex journeys in a faster and more intuitive manner.

Conclusion

With this latest enhancement, Yatra Online Limited positions DIYA as a transformative force in the global travel technology landscape, shifting trip planning from fragmented manual processes to a unified, intelligent, and conversational system that significantly streamlines the entire travel booking experience.
