Three-Year-Old Critically Injured After Superstitious Ritual in Bhilwara

A three-year-old child in Bhilwara is in critical condition after a superstitious ritual involving a heated iron rod worsened his illness. Doctors warn against harmful practices and stress the urgent need for awareness to prevent such incidents.

A shocking incident has emerged from Bhilwara, where blind superstition left a three-year-old child severely injured. The minor’s condition deteriorated after a local occult practitioner allegedly applied a heated iron rod to his body in an attempt to treat a common illness.

According to reports, the child had been suffering from vomiting and diarrhea when family members took him to the practitioner instead of seeking medical care. During the ritual, the practitioner pressed a hot iron rod against the child’s chest and abdomen. Rather than improving, the child’s condition worsened significantly following the act.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Raipur Police Station in the district. The injured child is currently undergoing treatment at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, where doctors have described his condition as critical. Medical examination revealed symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, and visible burn marks caused by the heated iron rod.

Doctors attending to the child stated that lack of education and the persistence of harmful superstitions in society continue to put children at serious risk. They warned that such practices not only worsen infections but can also turn otherwise treatable illnesses into life-threatening conditions. Medical professionals have emphasized the urgent need for awareness campaigns and stricter measures to curb such social evils.
