Jackie Shroff Revisits Subhash Ghai’s Office, Recalling ‘Hero’ Debut Journey in Bollywood
Jackie Shroff revisited Subhash Ghai’s office, reflecting on his debut film Hero and sharing a nostalgic social media post. The visit featured a Lord Ganesha rangoli and a symbolic plant gift. The 1983 blockbuster marked the beginning of his Bollywood journey alongside Meenakshi Seshadri and a celebrated ensemble cast.
Sharing a photograph from the visit on social media, Jackie Shroff expressed heartfelt gratitude and wrote, “Blessed to return to the place where my journey began. Walking into Subhash Ghai’s office, now renamed ‘Worship’, where I signed my first film Hero. My good wishes, always.”
The image shared by the actor featured a beautifully crafted rangoli of Lord Ganesha made using rice grains, symbolising devotion and celebration. Also visible in the frame was a plant gifted by Jackie Shroff himself, with the word “BHIDU” engraved on its pot, reflecting his signature personal style.
The visit brought back memories of Hero, released in 1983, which marked Jackie Shroff’s acting debut. The film was written, directed, and produced by Subhash Ghai and also introduced actress Meenakshi Seshadri in her debut role. The ensemble cast included Amrish Puri, Shammi Kapoor, and Sanjeev Kumar in significant roles.
Upon its release, Hero emerged as a major commercial success and became one of the highest-grossing films of the year.
