Karnataka Increases DA by 2.5%
The Karnataka Government announced a 2.5 percentage point increase in Dearness Allowance for state government employees on November 5. Following the revision, the DA rate has increased to 18 per cent.
The revised rates will come into effect from July 1, 2026. This means employees will receive the benefit of the increased allowance from July onwards. Eligible employees may also receive arrears for the previous months.
The decision is expected to provide financial relief to state government employees amid rising inflation.
Arunachal Pradesh Raises DA and DR by 3%
The Arunachal Pradesh Government has also announced an increase in Dearness Allowance for government employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners ahead of Diwali.
Both DA and DR have been increased by 3 percentage points. Following the revision, the DA rate for government employees has reached 63 per cent.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu shared the announcement through social media. The revised rates will be effective from July 1, 2026.
Central Government Increased DA Twice in 2026

In January 2026, the Central Government increased DA by 2 percentage points. This was followed by another 3 percentage point increase under the July revision cycle.
With these two increases, the total DA hike for central government employees in 2026 stands at 5 percentage points, taking the allowance rate to 63 per cent.
