Harry Boxer Detained in US: India Intensifies Efforts to Bring Bishnoi Gang Operative Back
Gangster Harry Boxer, accused of operating an overseas module of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has been detained in the US. Indian agencies are intensifying efforts to bring him back following the Rohit Shetty residence firing incident.
Indian agencies have intensified efforts to bring Boxer back to the country. His detention is being viewed as a significant breakthrough, as he allegedly operated a key overseas module of the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal syndicate.
Boxer, a native of Narayanpur village in Rajasthan, acquired the nickname because of his background as a sports enthusiast and boxing coach in Jaipur. He initially came from a sporting and farming background but later entered the criminal underworld. He has been absconding since 2022 and eventually fled India for the United States.
His latest detention follows an earlier brief detention in January 2026. At the time, Boxer had attempted to apply for asylum and was temporarily held by US immigration authorities before being allowed to leave.
Investigators identify Boxer as a key henchman and an important overseas operative of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He is accused of coordinating international extortion networks, issuing threats and facilitating targeted attacks alongside other members of the criminal syndicate.
Operating from North America, Boxer gained prominence for allegedly orchestrating intimidation campaigns against prominent personalities in the Indian entertainment industry.
He was directly linked to the firing incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty's residence in Mumbai and reportedly took responsibility for the attack. Following the incident, Boxer circulated threatening social media posts and audio clips targeting Bollywood personalities, warning them of serious consequences.
According to law enforcement records, Boxer faces several serious criminal charges across multiple states. These include cases related to murder, attempted murder, armed assaults and organised extortion.
Indian security and intelligence agencies are now coordinating through further channels to secure the legal proceedings required for his return and ensure accountability. His detention in the United States marks an important development in the investigation into the overseas operations of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and its alleged involvement in threats and attacks targeting prominent Indian personalities.
