Harish Uthaman plays Vibhishana, Ravana’s brother, in Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana. From working as cabin crew at Paramount Airways and British Airways to making his Bollywood debut, discover his journey and role in the film.
Harish Uthaman is a well-known actor in the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industries. He is recognised for his powerful performances and has predominantly played antagonists, police officers and supporting characters in films. His role as Vibhishana in Ramayana is set to bring him greater recognition among Hindi film audiences.
Before entering the film industry, however, Harish had a completely different career. He worked as an airline cabin crew member and was employed by Paramount Airways and British Airways. His professional journey took an unexpected turn when he decided to pursue acting instead.
Harish made his lead acting debut with the Tamil film Tha in 2010. Since then, he has established himself in the South Indian film industry, appearing in films across multiple languages.
Although Ramayana marks his Bollywood debut, his appearance in the first instalment is limited to a brief glimpse. Audiences are expected to see his full-fledged role as Vibhishana in the second part of the film. His transition from working in the aviation industry to becoming a recognised actor in South Indian cinema adds another dimension to his journey into Bollywood.
