A cab driver has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly murdering his wife and six members of her family in Rajajinagar. The murders took place earlier, but the case came to light late last night following a missing person complaint. The accused, identified as Indushekhar, is currently in police custody and being questioned.

According to preliminary information, Indushekhar was reportedly unhappy with his wife's behaviour. Whenever he complained about her to his mother-in-law and brothers-in-law, they allegedly supported his wife, Sunita. This reportedly fuelled his anger, leading him to allegedly kill Sunita and six members of her family.

The deceased have been identified as Indushekhar's wife Sunita, his mother-in-law Rupavati, brothers-in-law Shivakumar and Shankar, sisters-in-law Divya and Nalini, and Shivakumar's seven-year-old son, Puneeth.

According to the initial investigation, Indushekhar allegedly planned the murders before carrying them out. He first killed his wife. He then invited both his brothers-in-law to his house under the pretext of hosting a party and allegedly murdered them. Subsequently, he allegedly killed their wives, his mother-in-law and a seven-year-old child.

The murders are believed to have stemmed from a domestic dispute. Indushekhar was reportedly angry that his wife continued to remain in contact with her parental family. The matter came to light after a missing person complaint was registered at Srirampura Police Station.

During questioning, the accused reportedly gave different statements, prompting the police to investigate further and uncover the alleged mass murder.

Following the investigation, police conducted a four-hour search operation near the foothills of Nandi Hills. During the operation, they recovered the body of seven-year-old Puneeth. The search for the remaining bodies is still underway.

A police officer said that the accused had confessed to killing seven people. However, only one body has been recovered so far. Police are continuing their search operation to locate the remaining victims and establish the full sequence of events.
