Bengaluru Airport Road Traffic Restrictions for 18 Months From November 6: Check Alternative Routes
Bengaluru's KIA Road will face 18 months of traffic restrictions from November 6 as BDA begins elevated corridor construction on Ballari Road. Check the bus ban and alternative routes announced by Bengaluru Traffic Police.
The restrictions have been introduced to ease congestion and ensure smoother traffic movement during the construction period. Commuters travelling between Hebbal, Kempegowda International Airport and Bengaluru city, including emergency vehicles, have been advised to use alternative routes.
Vehicles travelling from Hebbal towards KIA can reach the airport via Cantonment Railway Station. They should proceed through Old High Grounds Junction, Kalpana Junction and Old Udaya TV Junction before passing Cantonment Railway Station, Tannery Road and Nagawara Road to continue towards the airport.
Vehicles travelling from Yeshwanthpur towards KIA have been advised to take Mattikere Road, turn right at BEL Circle and continue via Ring Road before proceeding towards the airport.
For vehicles travelling from KIA towards central Bengaluru, the traffic police have suggested an alternative route via Nagawara Junction. Commuters should take a left turn at Hebbal, proceed towards Nagawara Junction, take a right turn and continue through Bamboo Bazaar and Queens Road to reach the city.
Another option for vehicles travelling from KIA towards central Bengaluru is the Goraguntepalya route. Commuters should take a right turn at Hebbal and proceed via Hebbal Ring Road and Kuvempu Circle towards Goraguntepalya Junction. From there, they must take a left turn and continue along Dr Rajkumar Road towards the city.
Vehicles travelling from Yeshwanthpur towards central Bengaluru should use Margosa Road. They have been advised to proceed via BHEL Junction, take a right turn near Maramma Circle and continue through Margosa Road towards the city.
For commuters travelling from Hebbal towards Bengaluru city, the traffic police have also suggested an alternative via CBI Junction. Vehicles should enter the service road in front of Baptist Hospital after descending the Hebbal Flyover and continue along it up to CBI Junction. From there, they can proceed towards the city via Ballari Main Road.
Commuters heading from Hebbal towards Anand Nagar and RT Nagar should also use the service road in front of Baptist Hospital. They must proceed towards Anand Nagar Cross, take a left turn at CBI Junction to join Anand Nagar Main Road and continue towards RT Nagar and Jayamahal Road.
The Bengaluru Traffic Police have requested commuters to cooperate with the traffic management arrangements and follow the designated alternative routes throughout the construction period. With the four-lane elevated corridor work scheduled to affect traffic for 18 months, commuters travelling along the airport road and adjoining routes will need to plan their journeys according to the revised traffic arrangements.
