Abhijeet Deepke Challenges Foreign Funding Allegations, Asks: 'Where Is Saurabh Das Funded From?'
CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke has questioned the government over Saurabh Das's alleged funding after Union Minister Jitendra Singh accused Deepke and Ashutosh Ranka of receiving money from the US and Pakistan.
Deepke responded by sharing a social media post by Jitendra Singh and raising a pointed question: "And where is Saurabh funded from?" The government has not yet responded to his question. Singh had specifically named Deepke and Ranka while making allegations about the party's alleged foreign financial connections. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also repeatedly accused CJP of receiving funding from abroad.
Singh made several allegations against CJP while speaking to journalists in Bengaluru on Wednesday. He claimed that there was sufficient evidence to establish that the party was receiving unauthorised funding from anti-India NGOs and organisations operating both within India and abroad.
"There is sufficient evidence to show that they are receiving funding from unauthorised sources through anti-India NGOs and anti-India organisations. These organisations exist both within the country and outside India. NGOs receiving foreign funds, Deep State operatives and anti-India forces are shaping narratives. Abhijeet Deepke is receiving funds from donors based in the United States, while Ashutosh Ranka is receiving money from Pakistani leaders," Singh said.
The allegations follow similar claims made recently by American singer Mary Millben, who accused US-based donors of funding Deepke. Addressing India's young patriots, she said, "To all the young patriots of India. This is not the time to remain silent. Abhijeet Deepke and the Cockroach Janata Party are being funded by American donors who are against Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
Millben further alleged that the selected donors followed a particular pattern of targeting conservative leaders across the world. According to her, they identify young people in different countries who have studied in the United States, radicalise them, send them back to their home countries and provide financial support to create disruption.
"These selected donors have one pattern across the world: targeting conservative leaders, finding young people in a particular country who have studied in America, radicalising them, sending them back to their countries and funding them to create destruction. So far, none of them have succeeded, but they have affected the country's development and governance," she said.
Senior advocate Harish Salve had also raised questions about the alleged sources of funding behind protests and political activities in India during an interview. Referring to Deepke, Saurabh Das and another individual whom he described as a YouTuber and a German national, Salve questioned their backgrounds and financial resources.
"Who are these people, Mr Deepke, and this Saurabh Das, and this Mr YouTuber, what is his name? They are German nationals. Someone is a national from here, everyone has come from outside. And suddenly they have become leaders in India. Where are they getting so much money from to do all this? Protests require money," Salve said.
Salve also referred to political developments in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, alleging that foreign forces were responsible for the unrest in these countries.
"Is there any doubt about who caused the unrest in Nepal? Is there any doubt about who caused the unrest in Sri Lanka? Who caused the unrest in Bangladesh? Who has done all this? Foreign forces are behind all of it. What they are saying is correct that they want to create similar conditions in India," he said.
During the interview, Salve specifically referred to the United States, alleging that certain foreign forces had become accustomed to expecting countries to follow their instructions and resorting to unrest when those demands were not met.
Deepke had earlier responded to Salve's allegations by challenging him to submit any available evidence to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He maintained that if there was evidence supporting the claims, it should be handed over to the Home Minister.
With allegations involving funding from the United States and Pakistan now being raised by government representatives, public figures and political opponents, the source of financial support allegedly received by CJP and the individuals named in the controversy remains at the centre of the debate.
