The Chipi-Navi Mumbai flight service, considered important for Sindhudurg district’s tourism and economic development, will now operate daily. The move is expected to make air travel between the Konkan region and Mumbai more convenient, following efforts to expand the frequency of the service, which was previously available on a limited basis.
Guardian Minister Nitesh Rane’s continued efforts to secure daily operations have yielded results. Deepak Kapoor, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), has shared details of the revised flight schedule.
According to the new schedule, the flight will depart from Navi Mumbai at 7:55 am and arrive at Chipi Airport in Sindhudurg at 9:05 am. The return flight will depart from Chipi at 9:25 am and reach Navi Mumbai at 10:35 am. With this revised schedule, passengers will have access to daily flights between the two destinations.
As Sindhudurg continues to develop as an important tourism destination, improved air connectivity has become a significant requirement. Daily flights from Chipi Airport to Navi Mumbai are expected to make it easier for tourists to visit the district and return. The service will also benefit people from the Konkan region who live in Mumbai and surrounding areas for employment and business purposes.
The reduction in travel time is also expected to support local trade, industries and other commercial activities, alongside tourism. Regular flight operations will further strengthen Sindhudurg’s air connectivity with Mumbai, potentially contributing to the district’s broader economic development.
