Sony Launches LinkBuds Clip at ₹18,990 With AI-Powered Calls and 37-Hour Battery Life
Sony India has introduced the LinkBuds Clip at Rs. 18,990, featuring open-ear comfort, three listening modes, AI-powered call clarity and 37-hour battery life. Explore its connectivity, design and audio features.
The LinkBuds Clip features an open-ear design that allows users to listen to music while remaining aware of conversations and sounds around them. Unlike conventional in-ear listening, the design leaves the ears open, enabling users to stay connected to their surroundings while enjoying audio.
The earbuds offer three listening modes that can be switched through a double tap. Standard mode provides balanced sound for everyday listening, while Voice Boost enhances speech clarity and increases volume for podcasts, calls and music in noisy environments. Sound Leakage Reduction mode minimises high-frequency sound leakage, making it suitable for shared spaces such as trains, elevators and offices, where users may prefer a more private listening experience.
For audio performance, the LinkBuds Clip delivers balanced and clear sound across different music genres. Sony's Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE™) restores high-frequency elements lost during audio compression, helping reproduce sound closer to the original recording.
Call clarity is supported by Precise Voice Pickup technology, dual microphones and AI-based signal processing, which work together to isolate the user's speech and improve voice transmission. A bone conduction sensor captures voice vibrations and filters out ambient noise and background sounds. The earbuds also use an AI-powered noise reduction algorithm developed through machine learning with diverse voice and ambient sound data. The technology adapts to different environments to improve speech clarity across various listening and calling situations.
The LinkBuds Clip features a lightweight construction and secure, cuff-like design intended to provide comfort during extended use. Whether users are working, walking or travelling, the earbuds are designed to maintain a stable fit while offering a barely-there feel. Included Fitting Cushions allow users to personalise the fit for added comfort.
The smooth, cuff-like silhouette is designed to function as an everyday accessory. Sony has also incorporated a housing structure that considers sound leakage despite the open-ear design. Carefully optimised ventilation hole shapes and placement help minimise sound leakage while maintaining an open fit that allows users to remain aware of their surroundings.
For connectivity, the LinkBuds Clip supports Fast Pair, enabling one-tap Bluetooth pairing with Android devices. Users can also locate their earbuds by making the connected device ring when it is nearby. Windows users can access Swift Pair for quick pairing with Windows 11 and Windows 10 laptops, desktops and tablets. When pairing mode is selected, a pop-up provides convenient pairing guidance.
The earbuds also support single-earbud use, allowing users to remove and operate either earbud independently from the charging case. This feature is intended for situations involving multitasking, listening to music while participating in conversations or staying aware of surrounding activities.
Battery performance is another feature of the new earbuds. The LinkBuds Clip offers up to 37 hours of total playback, comprising nine hours from the earbuds and an additional 28 hours through the charging case. A three-minute quick charge provides up to one hour of additional listening time.
The earbuds carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating, offering protection against sweat and splashes. Users can customise their audio experience through Sony's Sound Connect application, which includes a 10-band equaliser to adjust vocals, bass and other sound preferences or save personalised audio settings.
The LinkBuds Clip also supports Google Gemini, enabling hands-free assistance and natural, free-flowing conversations when connected to a smartphone. Users can access information while on the move, listen to music, connect with friends and receive notifications.
Its scene-based listening feature further allows the audio experience to adapt to the user's current activity and surroundings. The system senses different situations, including walking, running and gym sessions, to tailor the listening experience accordingly.
Under its pricing and availability details, Sony India has listed the LinkBuds Clip at a best-buy price of Rs. 18,990. The earbuds are available in Green, Greige, Black and Lavender colour options.
