MAHE Bengaluru will host the Times Higher Education Asia Universities Summit 2027 from April 20–22, the first time the event comes to India, featuring discussions on higher education and the unveiling of THE Asia University Rankings 2027.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, will host the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia Universities Summit 2027 at its Bengaluru campus from 20 to 22 April 2027, marking the first time the prestigious international higher education summit will be held in India.
The summit will bring together university leaders, scholars, policymakers, researchers and industry representatives to exchange ideas and discuss the evolving priorities of higher education across Asia and beyond. It will provide a platform to examine the opportunities and challenges facing universities as the higher education sector undergoes expansion and transformation.
The 2027 summit will centre on the theme “Talent, transition and scale: Leading in an era of expansion.” Discussions will address key issues shaping higher education, including talent development, technological transformation, internationalisation, research and innovation, demographic change and climate resilience.
A major highlight of the event will be the live reveal of THE Asia University Rankings 2027, alongside the winners’ ceremony for THE Asia Awards 2027. The events will bring together leading institutions and higher education professionals from across the region.
Dr H S Ballal, Pro Chancellor, MAHE, said hosting the Times Higher Education Asia Universities Summit in India highlights the nation's growing role in global higher education. He said, “MAHE is proud to host this international event at our Bengaluru campus and to participate in discussions that could shape the future of universities, education, and research across Asia.”

He said, “As the summit comes to India for the first time, MAHE looks forward to welcoming university leaders, academicians, policymakers and industry representatives to Bengaluru and to creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration and innovation.”
The summit will also showcase MAHE Bengaluru's technology and innovation environment, giving international delegates an opportunity to engage with the university’s academic and research ecosystem. The event is expected to serve as a forum for discussions on the priorities and developments influencing higher education institutions across Asia and beyond.
