Until a few decades ago, heart-related diseases were widely regarded as conditions associated with older people. However, recent cases have raised concern as people at younger ages are also increasingly becoming victims of heart-related problems.
Health experts have suggested several measures to maintain heart health, which people should follow in the present day. These include avoiding alcohol and smoking, incorporating nutritious foods into the diet, consuming more plant-based food instead of non-vegetarian food, staying active and exercising regularly, and maintaining a healthy weight.
People with cholesterol, diabetes and blood pressure problems should undergo regular health check-ups. Problems such as stress, anxiety and depression should also be taken seriously and discussed with a doctor.
