The monsoon trough has become disrupted. After the low-pressure system weakened, a cyclonic circulation is present over North Gujarat and adjoining areas at an altitude of 1.5 to 3.1 kilometres. Another cyclonic circulation is located over North Tamil Nadu at an altitude of up to 4.5 kilometres above sea level. A low-pressure trough extends from Marathwada through Karnataka to the southeastern Arabian Sea.
During the 24 hours ending Friday, September 18, Solapur recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 37.9 degrees Celsius. Jeur, Amravati, Parbhani, Akola and Wardha recorded temperatures above 36 degrees Celsius, while Chandrapur recorded a temperature above 35 degrees Celsius. Mahabaleshwar recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 17.5 degrees Celsius.
In the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, Sonpeth in Parbhani recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 110 mm, followed by Parli Vaijnath in Beed with 100 mm of rainfall.
On September 19, a yellow alert has been issued for Raigad and Ratnagiri in Konkan; Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nashik, Ahilyanagar, Pune and Satara in Madhya Maharashtra; and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Hingoli, Latur and Nanded in Marathwada. The weather department has forecast cloudy conditions and scattered rainfall accompanied by lightning in the remaining parts of the state.
Low-Pressure Area Likely to Form Over Bay
A cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 kilometres above sea level is present over North Thailand and adjoining areas. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Andaman Sea on September 19. There are indications that the system could intensify as it moves towards the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh coast.
Monsoon Likely to Begin Retreat Today
Weather conditions have become favourable for the southwest monsoon to begin its retreat. The monsoon trough has also become disrupted. The weather department has forecast that the monsoon is likely to begin withdrawing from western Rajasthan on September 19. With the onset of the monsoon's retreat, the country is expected to see the beginning of the post-monsoon rainfall.

The average minimum and maximum temperatures were 19.4 and 34.4 degrees Celsius in North Maharashtra, 17.5 and 37.8 degrees Celsius in West Maharashtra, 24.1 and 33.1 degrees Celsius in Konkan, 21.0 and 36.2 degrees Celsius in Marathwada, and 20.2 and 36.4 degrees Celsius in Vidarbha.
Places recording higher temperatures included Solapur at 37.8 degrees Celsius, Jeur at 36.5, Amravati at 36.4, Parbhani at 36.2, Parbhani (Agriculture) at 36, Akola at 36, Wardha at 36 and Chandrapur at 35 degrees Celsius.
