Bhagalpur Train Services Hit as 64 Trains Cancelled, Routes Changed Till October 4

East Central Railway will cancel 64 trains and alter routes and timings from September 21 to October 4 for Rajendra Bridge doubling work, affecting several Bhagalpur services and key routes.

 

Bhagalpur train services will face major disruptions from September 21 to October 4 as pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking work is scheduled across the Danapur and Sonpur divisions of East Central Railway. The railway has cancelled, diverted and rescheduled a large number of trains during the period, with several important services originating from Bhagalpur also affected.

The changes have been announced in connection with development work related to the doubling of the Rajendra Bridge at Mokama.

Main line connection work to begin

According to East Central Railway, work will be undertaken to connect the new bridge at Rajendra Pul station with the double line and to establish the main line connection between Dinkar Gram Simaria and Barauni. For this work, pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking activities will be carried out at Rajendra Pul, Hathidah Junction Upper, Tal, Rampur Dumra and Dinkar Gram Simaria stations.

The pre-non-interlocking work will begin on September 21, while the non-interlocking work will continue until October 4.

64 trains cancelled on different dates

During the work, the railway has decided to cancel a total of 64 trains on different dates. The changes are particularly important for passengers travelling from Bhagalpur.

Train number 13419/13420 Bhagalpur-Muzaffarpur-Bhagalpur Jansewa Express will remain cancelled from September 25 to October 4. Train number 13423 Bhagalpur-Ajmer weekly Humsafar Express will remain cancelled on September 24 and October 1.

Train number 22405 Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Garib Rath Express will operate on a changed route on September 22, 24, 26 and 29, and October 1 and 3.

Several trains to operate on diverted routes

The railway has also changed the routes of several trains. Some services will operate via the Kiul-Gaya-Grand Chord line, while several others will run via Jhajha-Kiul-Sheikhpura-Biharsharif-Bakhtiyarpur.

Some trains have been diverted via Barauni-Munger-Bhagalpur-Sahibganj-Rampurhat. Certain diverted trains will also receive additional stoppages at stations including Bhagalpur, Sahibganj and Rampurhat.

Train number 15097 Bhagalpur-Jammu Tawi Amarnath Express will operate via Ratanpur-Munger-Barauni on September 24 and October 1. Train number 15098 Jammu Tawi-Bhagalpur Amarnath Express will operate via Barauni-Munger-Ratanpur on September 22 and 29.

Some trains to run late

Several train services will also face operational changes. Train number 63571 Jasidih-Mokama MEMU will be short-terminated at Kiul station from September 20 to October 4. Train number 63572 Mokama-Jasidih MEMU will be short-originated from Kiul from September 21 to October 5.

The railway has also changed the timings of some trains. Train number 12367 Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Vikramshila Express will depart from Bhagalpur three hours late on October 3.

Train number 13229 Godda-Rajendra Nagar Terminal weekly Express will also depart from Godda three hours late on October 3. Train number 13331 Dhanbad-Patna Intercity will run three hours late, while train number 18183 Tatanagar-Buxar Express will run two hours late.

Railway appeals to passengers

The rail development work at Mokama's Rajendra Bridge and Simaria will affect train operations from the last week of September through the first week of October. East Central Railway has appealed to passengers travelling from Bhagalpur and along this route to check their train status and the revised route before beginning their journey.

PRO provides details

The PRO of the Malda Division said that the timings of some trains have also been changed. Train number 12367 Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Vikramshila Express will depart from Bhagalpur three hours late on October 3. Train number 13229 Godda-Rajendra Nagar Terminal weekly Express will also run three hours late from Godda on October 3. Train number 13331 Dhanbad-Patna Intercity will run three hours late, while train number 18183 Tatanagar-Buxar Express will run two hours late.

The PRO said, "Some trains have also had their timings changed. Train number 12367 Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Vikramshila Express will depart from Bhagalpur three hours late on October 3. The scheduled infrastructure work will therefore bring cancellations, route diversions, short-terminations, short-originations and delays to train services across the affected sections until October 4, making it important for passengers to verify their individual train's status and revised route before travelling.
