Diwali-Chhath Rush: New Delhi-Hawrah Special Train to Run From October 2

North Central Railway will run a New Delhi-Howrah special train from October 2 to November 29, with weekly services, 16 coaches and stops across Kanpur, Prayagraj, Patna and Asansol.

 

The North Central Railway has announced a new special train between New Delhi and Howrah to facilitate the journey of passengers travelling home during major festivals such as Diwali and Chhath Puja. The special service is expected to provide confirmed seats and a more convenient journey for thousands of passengers.

The special train will operate via Kanpur, Prayagraj, Buxar, Patna and Asansol. According to the North Central Railway, the service will run between New Delhi and Howrah from October 2 to November 29 and will operate once a week, making a total of nine trips in each direction.

During its journey, the train will stop at Ghaziabad, Chipiyana Buzurg, Aligarh, Tundla, Govindpuri (Kanpur), Subedarganj (Prayagraj), Mirzapur, New West Cabin, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar, Ara, Patna, Bakhtiyarpur, Kiul, Jhajha, Jasidih, Madhupur, Chittaranjan, Asansol, Durgapur, Barddhaman and Bandel railway stations.

Train number 04052, the New Delhi-Howrah Special, will depart from New Delhi at 18:15 every Friday from October 2 to November 27. It will reach Howrah at 23:40 on Saturday.

On the return journey, train number 04051, the Howrah-New Delhi Special, will depart from Howrah at 01:40 every Sunday from October 4 to November 29 and will reach New Delhi at 08:20 on Monday.

The special train will have a total of 16 coaches, comprising two Third AC coaches, eight Sleeper Class coaches, four General Class coaches and two SLR coaches.

For train number 04052, the New Delhi-Howrah Special, the scheduled timings are as follows. The train will depart New Delhi at 18:15, reach Ghaziabad at 18:58 and depart at 19:00. It will pass Chipiyana Buzurg at 19:10. It will reach Aligarh Junction at 21:50 and depart at 21:52, followed by Tundla Junction at 22:58 and 23:00.

The train will reach Govindpuri at 02:10 and depart at 02:15, Subedarganj at 06:10 and depart at 06:15, and Mirzapur at 07:58 and depart at 08:00. It will pass New West Cabin at 10:20 and reach Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction at 10:30, departing at 10:40.

The train will reach Buxar at 11:40 and depart at 11:42, Ara at 12:25 and depart at 12:27, and Patna Junction at 13:25 and depart at 13:35. It will reach Bakhtiyarpur Junction at 14:13 and depart at 14:15, Kiul Junction at 15:43 and depart at 15:45, and Jhajha at 16:55 and depart at 17:00.

It will reach Jasidih Junction at 17:32 and depart at 17:34, Madhupur Junction at 17:58 and depart at 18:00, Chittaranjan at 18:38 and depart at 18:40, and Asansol Junction at 19:17 and depart at 19:22.

The train will reach Durgapur at 19:53 and depart at 19:55, pass Khana at 21:25, reach Barddhaman at 21:36 and depart at 21:38, and Bandel at 22:20 and depart at 22:22 before reaching Howrah Junction at 23:40.

On the return journey, train number 04051, the Howrah-New Delhi Special, will depart Howrah Junction at 01:40. It will reach Bandel at 02:22 and depart at 02:24, Barddhaman at 03:11 and depart at 03:13, and pass Khana at 03:45.

It will reach Durgapur at 04:16 and depart at 04:18, Asansol Junction at 04:50 and depart at 04:55, Chittaranjan at 05:20 and depart at 05:22, Madhupur Junction at 06:22 and depart at 06:24, and Jasidih Junction at 07:20 and depart at 07:22.

The train will reach Jhajha at 08:45 and depart at 08:50, Kiul Junction at 09:33 and depart at 09:35, Bakhtiyarpur Junction at 10:38 and depart at 10:40, and Patna Junction at 11:40 and depart at 11:50.

It will reach Ara at 12:24 and depart at 12:26, Buxar at 13:10 and depart at 13:12, and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction at 15:05 and depart at 15:15. It will pass New West Cabin at 15:40 and reach Mirzapur at 16:35, departing at 16:37.

The train will reach Subedarganj at 18:40 and depart at 18:45, Govindpuri at 21:55 and depart at 22:00, Tundla Junction at 00:58 and depart at 01:00, and Aligarh Junction at 02:10 and depart at 02:12. It will pass Chipiyana Buzurg at 07:10, reach Ghaziabad at 07:18 and depart at 07:20, before reaching New Delhi at 08:20.

With services scheduled between October 2 and November 29, the special train will provide an additional rail option on the New Delhi-Howrah route during the Diwali and Chhath Puja travel period.
