Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Sleeper: Second Sleeper Train Nears Launch

Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Sleeper preparations have intensified as the 16-coach rake nears launch. The train will run via Prayagraj and Kanpur, with final PMO approval awaited for trials and operations by Diwali.

A new chapter in the modernisation and transformation of Indian Railways is set to unfold, with preparations accelerating for the country’s second Vande Bharat Sleeper train between New Delhi and the religious city of Varanasi via Prayagraj and Kanpur. Strategic groundwork has intensified at the Railway Board and zonal levels for the ambitious project, aimed at making the new service available to passengers soon.

Final Date Approval From PMO Awaited

Despite the preparations, the rail administration and concerned departments have maintained silence over the project for now. No official announcement has been made regarding the dates as the final approval is to be given by the Prime Minister’s Office. It is believed that, following the launch of the first chair-car Vande Bharat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself may flag off the sleeper version and dedicate it to the nation. Testing of the rake is being carried out at a rapid pace for this purpose.
