Flight 6E225, an Airbus A321neo, hit the pole at Bay No. 6 at around 9:02 a.m. after completing a normal landing at Srinagar International Airport. The aircraft was being parked when the incident occurred.
All passengers and crew deboarded the aircraft using manual stairs. No injuries were reported, and airport operations remained unaffected following the incident.
IndiGo confirmed the incident and grounded the aircraft for maintenance. The airline also notified the authorities, while an investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the incident.
The investigation will establish how the aircraft came into contact with the Visual Docking Guidance System pole during parking. The aircraft will remain grounded for maintenance as the authorities examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
