Prime Minister Narendra Modi Says Eastern India Emerging as Gateway to Development, Unveils Projects Worth More Than Rs 47,600 Crore in Odisha
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said eastern India, which remained underdeveloped during Congress rule, is now emerging as a gateway to development. Addressing a public meeting in Rairangpur, Odisha, he unveiled projects worth more than Rs 47,600 crore, highlighted investment proposals of nearly Rs 20 lakh crore, and said welfare programmes were transforming the lives of poor citizens.
During the event, Modi unveiled development projects worth more than Rs 47,600 crore and said Odisha was moving swiftly on the path of growth. He stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party government was converting the state's resources into opportunities and strengthening its economic potential.
The Prime Minister said investment proposals worth nearly Rs 20 lakh crore had so far been received, reflecting growing confidence in Odisha's development prospects. He added that the state was progressing steadily with the support of welfare initiatives aimed at improving the lives of economically weaker sections.
Extending birthday wishes to President Droupadi Murmu, Modi said she had strengthened Odisha's identity and brought greater recognition to the state. He made the remarks while addressing the gathering in Mayurbhanj district, the home region of the President.
The unveiling of projects worth more than Rs 47,600 crore and the emphasis on investment and welfare highlighted the government's focus on accelerating development in Odisha and positioning eastern India as a major centre of economic growth and opportunity.
