Harshit Rana Added to India Squad for Decisive Third ODI Against Afghanistan
India have added fast bowler Harshit Rana to the squad for the third and final One-Day International against Afghanistan in Chennai after he completed rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. The 24-year-old has also been selected for the upcoming Twenty20 International series in Ireland and England under full-time captain Shreyas Iyer.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced Rana’s inclusion, stating that the 24-year-old pacer has successfully completed his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence and has now linked up with the Indian ODI squad in Chennai. His return provides additional pace options for the team ahead of the series finale.
Apart from his latest inclusion in the ODI squad, Rana has also earned selection for the upcoming Twenty20 International series in Ireland and England. The tour will be led by Shreyas Iyer, who has been appointed as the full-time captain for the series.
Rana’s return following rehabilitation marks an important development for Indian cricket, with the young fast bowler set to feature in multiple assignments as the team continues preparations across formats.
