Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi after concluding his two-nation visit to France and Slovakia. The visit featured engagements in Nice, Evian and Paris, including the G7 Summit and VivaTech 2026, and provided fresh momentum to the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership with a focus on innovation, technology, economic cooperation and bilateral ties.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of External Affairs announced the Prime Minister's departure from Paris, stating that the visit had injected fresh momentum into the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership. Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a statement that the Prime Minister had wrapped up a productive visit to France featuring wide-ranging engagements. He noted that the visit reinforced the shared commitment of both nations to advancing cooperation across key sectors and further strengthened the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership.
Reflecting on the visit, Prime Minister Modi described the tour as extensive in terms of both engagements and achievements. He stated that the visit began in Nice, where the Bharat Innovates programme was held, followed by engagements in Evian during the G7 Summit, and later in Paris, where he addressed VivaTech 2026, participated in a major community programme, and held meetings with chief executive officers. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron, the Government of France, and the people of the country for their warm hospitality, adding that the friendship between India and France would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
The Prime Minister's itinerary covered key engagements in Nice, Evian and Paris, with discussions focused on innovation, technology, economic cooperation and the expansion of bilateral ties between the two countries.
During his address at VivaTech 2026 in Paris, one of Europe's largest technology and startup events, Prime Minister Modi highlighted India's rapid progress in innovation and digital transformation. He stated that India had achieved remarkable advances in technology, innovation and the startup ecosystem and emphasised how technological development was being used to bring positive changes to the lives of citizens.
The successful completion of the France and Slovakia visit underscored India's growing international engagement and reaffirmed New Delhi's commitment to expanding cooperation with strategic partners across sectors ranging from technology and innovation to economic development and global diplomacy.
