India, South Korea Reaffirm Commitment to Digital Governance and Public Administration Cooperation
India and South Korea have renewed their commitment to expanding cooperation in digital governance and public administration. During bilateral talks in New Delhi, Dr Jitendra Singh and South Korean Minister Yun Hojung discussed electronic governance, capacity building, citizen-centric services and efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships and government innovation.
The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in digital governance, electronic governance, public administration, capacity building and citizen-centric service delivery. Referring to the Joint Strategic Vision Statement finalised during South Korean President Lee Jae Myung’s visit to India in April this year, Dr Singh said that the two nations share a Special Strategic Partnership built on common democratic values, innovation and a commitment to good governance.
During the meeting, Dr Singh said that India and South Korea are vibrant democracies bound by shared values, heritage and a commitment to the rule of law. He highlighted several Indian initiatives aimed at improving transparency and public service delivery, including the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System, the Digital Life Certificate and various technology-enabled governance platforms.
Dr Singh also stated that both countries are engaged in active discussions to finalise a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at promoting cooperation in public administration and government innovation. The two sides underscored the importance of strengthening people-to-people exchanges and institutional partnerships to address emerging governance challenges.
Reaffirming their shared vision, India and South Korea pledged to deepen cooperation in pursuit of efficient, transparent and citizen-centric governance. The meeting underscored the growing strategic partnership between the two countries and highlighted their commitment to leveraging innovation and democratic values to strengthen public administration and digital governance.
