Rakesh Gurjar reportedly described himself as a nationalist during the confrontation and referred to the protesting group as “mosquitoes” possessing what he termed a “jihadi mindset.” The accusations intensified tensions at the protest site, which had already been marked by heightened agitation over the alleged examination paper leak and its broader implications.
The Cockroach Janta Party alleged that Gurjar had affiliations with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, allegations that Gurjar has firmly denied.
Following the incident, the party founder, identified as Dipke, dismissed the act of violence, characterizing it as an expression of cowardice. He reiterated the demand for accountability from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, highlighting concerns linked to reported student suicides and an ongoing Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the scandal.
Protests related to the NEET-UG 2026 controversy continue to spread across multiple regions of the country, with participation and support reportedly extending to public figures and celebrities, reflecting growing national attention on the issue.
The incident at the Martyrs Memorial underscores the increasing intensity and polarization surrounding the examination leak allegations, as political accusations, public anger, and law enforcement action converge in an already volatile atmosphere.
