JDU Targets INDIA Bloc, Says Alliance Driven by Personal Interests and Lacks National Agenda

Janata Dal (United) leader Sanjay Kumar Jha launched a strong attack on the INDIA bloc, accusing it of being driven by personal interests and lacking a national agenda. His remarks came after a meeting of 23 opposition parties that discussed electoral concerns, economic challenges, unemployment, inflation, farmers’ issues, and policy intervention for marginalized communities.

Janata Dal (United) Member of Parliament and National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha launched a sharp attack on the Opposition INDIA bloc on Tuesday, asserting that the alliance is dominated by leaders pursuing personal interests and has failed to present a meaningful agenda for the country. He claimed that voters have rejected the coalition because its sole objective is to oppose the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to reporters, Jha questioned the cohesion and credibility of the Opposition alliance, stating that the INDIA bloc cannot be considered a genuine alliance as its constituent parties frequently disagree and engage in internal conflicts. Referring to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), he remarked that the party had joined the INDIA alliance but questioned its current position within the coalition.

“The INDIA alliance is not an alliance at all. In their alliance, everyone speaks and fights against each other. The DMK party had also joined the INDIA alliance, but where has it gone today? The INDIA alliance is filled only with the interests of individuals. The public has rejected them. They have no agenda for the country. Their only goal is to oppose the NDA and PM Modi,” Jha said.

His remarks came a day after leaders of the INDIA bloc convened a meeting to discuss the country's economic situation and other issues affecting citizens. The meeting, held on Monday, was attended by representatives of 23 opposition parties that are part of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).

Kharge stated that INDIA bloc leaders had decided to jointly write to the Chief Justice of India regarding concerns linked to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, alleged vote manipulation, and what they described as the “stealing of elections.” He said the letter would be submitted to the Chief Justice in the near future, seeking intervention over concerns raised by alliance members about the electoral process.

The opposition alliance also urged the Union government to convene an all-party meeting at the earliest opportunity to deliberate on the current economic situation, unemployment, rising prices, challenges faced by farmers, and other people-centric issues. The bloc further highlighted concerns regarding alleged atrocities against marginalized sections and called for urgent policy measures to address these matters.

The latest exchange underscores the deepening political confrontation between the NDA and the INDIA bloc, with both sides intensifying their positions ahead of key political developments. While the Opposition seeks coordinated action on electoral and economic concerns, the ruling alliance continues to question the unity, credibility, and national vision of its rivals.
