REPOS ENERGY SHOWCASES AUTONOMOUS FUELLING PROTOTYPE AT VIVATECH PARIS 2026 AS INDIA PUSHES DEEP-TECH ENERGY TRANSITION
Repos Energy unveiled its live Autonomous Fuelling Solution prototype at VivaTech Paris 2026 as India debuted as the Artificial Intelligence Country Partner. Supported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Pune-based startup showcased a future driven by artificial intelligence, robotics and digital infrastructure, reinforcing India's ambitions in deep technology and global energy transition.
Repos Energy marked a significant milestone at VivaTech Paris 2026 by unveiling a live working prototype of its Autonomous Fuelling Solution at the India Pavilion, coinciding with India's growing push to establish itself as a global leader in deep technology and energy transition. The showcase took place on a landmark day when Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal attended the summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, highlighting India's technological ambitions before an international audience.
The Pune-based energy technology company presented a vision of future fuel stations powered by artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, robotics and digital payment systems, enabling operations with minimal human intervention. India made its debut as the Artificial Intelligence Country Partner at VivaTech 2026, Europe's largest technology and innovation summit, while also hosting its biggest national pavilion at the event. Repos Energy was among 25 high-potential Indian startups selected by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to represent the country under the "Bharat Innovates" theme, aimed at positioning India as a global centre for deep-technology innovation.
A major focus of discussions at the India Pavilion was the Government of India's intention to actively facilitate and accelerate the deployment of autonomous fuelling infrastructure across the country. According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the initiative represents a strategic policy push towards the next phase of energy transition. For Repos Energy, the development reinforces its belief that autonomous and technology-driven fuelling is rapidly becoming a practical reality rather than a distant concept.
The Autonomous Fuelling prototype integrates artificial intelligence-based demand forecasting, Internet of Things-enabled remote monitoring, robotic dispensing mechanisms and seamless digital payment systems. The platform has been designed to support conventional fuels as well as emerging energy sources. It envisions fuel stations operating with significantly reduced human intervention, improving efficiency and safety while supporting broader decarbonisation goals.
Speaking about India's commitment to introducing autonomous fuelling infrastructure, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said that India's vision for energy transition is not limited to adoption but extends to building infrastructure that defines the future. He stated that autonomous fuelling forms a critical part of that vision and that the Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is committed to creating a policy framework to introduce and scale the technology across the country. He added that companies such as Repos Energy, working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and energy, are precisely the kind of innovators that can help India lead the global energy transition, and described VivaTech 2026 as an ideal platform to announce that ambition to the world.
During the event, founders Aditi Bhosale Walunj and Chetan Walunj demonstrated the Autonomous Fuelling Solution to Piyush Goyal. Addressing the gathering in Paris, Aditi Bhosale Walunj said that presenting the company's autonomous fuelling vision at a time when India was gaining global recognition represented a defining moment not only for Repos Energy but also for Indian entrepreneurs striving to build products with international relevance. She said the journey that began in 2017 had reached a stage where conviction and innovation had attracted worldwide attention.
Chetan Walunj said the future of energy would be autonomous, intelligent and developed in India. He stated that by combining artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and robotics, Repos Energy was not merely transforming fuel delivery but building infrastructure capable of supporting the global energy transition. He described the initiative as the company's contribution to a developed India and international energy transformation.
For Repos Energy, participation in VivaTech represents more than an exhibition opportunity. Established in 2017 around the idea of delivering fuel directly to consumers, the company has developed a network of more than 2,500 fuelling partners and served over 25,000 businesses across India. It has also worked with the Government of India to help create the regulatory framework for doorstep fuel delivery.
The company, which received investments from the late Ratan Tata in two funding rounds, has gradually transformed from a last-mile logistics enterprise into an artificial intelligence-driven energy transition infrastructure company. Its presentation at VivaTech 2026 represents the clearest demonstration of that transformation.
Repos Energy's selection under the "Bharat Innovates" initiative and its participation in VivaTech 2026 place the company at the centre of two defining developments for India: the global energy transition and the country's emergence as an exporter of deep technology. The company plans to utilise the international platform to strengthen strategic partnerships and attract global interest in its autonomous fuelling infrastructure.
Founded in 2017 by Aditi Bhosale Walunj and Chetan Walunj, Repos Energy has positioned itself as an artificial intelligence-driven energy transition infrastructure company focused on making all forms of energy more accessible and efficient. With more than 2,500 fuelling partners and over 25,000 businesses served across the country, the company aims to provide convenience, transparency and operational control to organisations contributing to national development. Supported by investments from the late Ratan Tata and recognised for its role in developing India's doorstep fuel delivery policy framework, Repos Energy continues to combine innovation and technology to deliver value while contributing to sustainable development.
The showcase at VivaTech Paris 2026 marked a defining chapter for Repos Energy and underscored India's ambition to lead the next generation of intelligent energy infrastructure, signalling the country's growing influence in global deep technology and energy transition ecosystems.
