INDIA Bloc Decides on Regular Coordination Meetings, Next Session Scheduled in Hyderabad

Opposition leaders from 25 political parties attended the INDIA bloc meeting in New Delhi, where key political issues were discussed and a decision was taken to hold alliance meetings every two months. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced that the next INDIA bloc meeting will be held in Hyderabad, Telangana, in August.

NEW DELHI: Leaders of several opposition parties gathered in the national capital on Monday for a meeting of the INDIA bloc, aimed at strengthening coordination among alliance partners and discussing key political issues.

The meeting was attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee, senior National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, and NCP-SP leader Supriya Sule, among other opposition leaders. However, some opposition parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, chose to distance themselves from the meeting.

Addressing the media after the discussions, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that representatives from 25 political parties participated in the meeting. He stated that a wide range of issues was discussed, with leaders sharing their views and perspectives on matters of common concern.

Mr. Kharge announced that the participating parties had agreed to hold INDIA bloc meetings every two months to enhance coordination and maintain regular dialogue among alliance partners. He further informed that the next meeting of the opposition alliance is scheduled to be held in August.

According to Mr. Kharge, the forthcoming meeting will take place in Hyderabad, Telangana. The decision to institutionalize regular meetings is being viewed as a significant step toward strengthening cooperation among the parties associated with the INDIA bloc and ensuring sustained engagement on political and public issues in the months ahead.
