In a parallel development, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen corporator Matin Patel repeatedly referred to Imtiaz Jaleel when questioned by the Crime Branch regarding the whereabouts of accused Nida Khan. Patel, during interrogation, repeatedly stated, “You will have to ask Imtiaz Jaleel Sir,” when pressed for information on Nida Khan.
Nida Khan was arrested on May 7 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in central Maharashtra, with police alleging that Matin Patel had provided her shelter. The AIMIM corporator was questioned for nearly nine hours on May 25 and was summoned again for questioning on June 1.
Earlier, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation carried out demolition action against alleged illegal constructions at the residence and other properties of Matin Patel. The demolition sparked a political confrontation between Maharashtra Minister and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat and AIMIM leader Imtiaz Jaleel.
Reacting to the demolition, Imtiaz Jaleel questioned the timing and intent behind the operation, stating, “What was the hurry in demolishing Matin Patel’s residence that forces were deployed around 6 in the morning? Was this a national threat? If Patel committed any mistake, it was an individual act. His family residing there had no role in it. His elderly parents, wife, and children are not at fault,” adding that Patel’s house would be reconstructed.
Based on the chargesheet and witness statements, police sources indicate that Imtiaz Jaleel may soon be summoned for questioning in the case. Meanwhile, the Nashik Police Special Investigation Team is probing a total of nine cases registered in connection with the allegations linked to the TCS unit.
Tata Consultancy Services, India’s largest private sector employer, has stated that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward harassment and coercion of any form and confirmed that employees allegedly involved in sexual harassment at its Nashik office have been suspended.
The investigation continues to widen as law enforcement agencies examine multiple layers of allegations, political references, and institutional accountability connected to the case.
