DAWOOD IBRAHIM SAFE HOUSE IN KARACHI EMERGES IN DELHI TERROR MODULE INVESTIGATION
Delhi Police's Special Cell has dismantled a major terror module allegedly linked to the Dawood Ibrahim syndicate. Investigators claim the network planned attacks in Delhi and Mumbai, operated from Karachi's Clifton area, involved Munna Jhingada and alleged intelligence handlers, and included weapons smuggling, recruitment, and escape routes through Nepal and Dubai.
During interrogation, investigators uncovered significant details indicating that Clifton Road in Karachi continues to serve as a key operational base for fugitive underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim. According to statements made by the accused, their primary point of contact was Muddasar Hussain Sayyed, alias Munna Jhingada, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim.
Officials stated that the fact that the operation was allegedly being coordinated from the Clifton Road area strongly suggests that Dawood Ibrahim remains based there. The location has long been regarded as his most prominent residence and is considered one of the safest places for him under the protection of Pakistan's intelligence establishment.
Investigators said Dawood Ibrahim maintains five addresses in Karachi. His principal residence is reportedly located in Clifton near the Saudi Mosque. Other locations linked to him include the Defence Housing Authority, the Noorbad area, and 617 CP Berar Society. Officials further stated that he maintains two separate residences within the Clifton locality.
According to investigators, the latest probe has revealed that several of Dawood Ibrahim's close associates live in close proximity to him. Terror-related activities and narcotics operations are allegedly monitored from the Clifton area near the Saudi Mosque in Karachi.
Following Operation Sindoor, reports had suggested that Dawood Ibrahim had been moved from his usual residence. An Intelligence Bureau official stated that he was temporarily shifted between his various Karachi addresses as a precautionary measure to avoid potential targeting by Indian armed forces. However, once the perceived threat diminished, he reportedly returned to his Clifton residence.
Officials described the location as both strategic and secure, noting that Karachi hosts a major regional directorate of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency responsible for overseeing operations in the area. While the agency's headquarters are located in Islamabad, investigators claim that the Karachi regional office plays a significant role in providing security around the area where Dawood Ibrahim resides.
The Delhi Police investigation has further revealed that several Inter-Services Intelligence officials were allegedly involved in planning the operation. According to investigators, these officials regularly met Munna Jhingada and provided instructions regarding the execution of attacks in India.
Authorities have identified Delhi and Mumbai as the primary targets of the terror module. Investigators believe that attacks in additional cities were planned and would have been executed depending on the success of the initial phase of operations.
According to the probe, Munna Jhingada established a command centre near Dawood Ibrahim's residence. Investigators claim that the facility was closely monitored by Inter-Services Intelligence officials, who supervised operations and ensured heavy security around the premises.
Statements made by the accused indicate that Jhingada and his associates oversaw every stage of the operation, including recruitment and the procurement of weapons. Investigators also found that the Dawood syndicate had allocated Rs 20 lakh for the module upon the successful completion of its mission.
Officials stated that the operatives were not being treated as ordinary terror recruits. Investigators believe the mission was intended as a targeted operation in which the involvement of the underworld was considered crucial by those directing the conspiracy.
The investigation further revealed that Inter-Services Intelligence operatives allegedly assisted in ensuring the safe movement of weapons into India. According to officials, Munna Jhingada coordinated with intelligence operatives to arrange the delivery of hand grenades in Gurdaspur, Punjab.
During the operation, Delhi Police recovered a substantial cache of weapons and hand grenades. Investigators found that the plan involved throwing grenades at important locations. Officials noted that such attacks are relatively simple to execute while requiring limited financial resources.
The accused also questioned how they would escape after carrying out the attacks. According to investigators, Munna Jhingada assured them that a secure route would be arranged through Nepal, after which they would be flown to Dubai.
The investigation has exposed what authorities describe as a deeply coordinated network involving underworld operatives, terror suspects, weapons procurement channels, and alleged external handlers. The findings have provided fresh insight into the operational structure of the Dawood Ibrahim syndicate and its alleged role in supporting terror-related activities targeting major Indian cities.
