Sonia Gandhi Citizenship Case Hearing Adjourned to July 4 at Rouse Avenue Court Amid FIR Demand
The Rouse Avenue Court has adjourned the hearing on a revision petition related to Sonia Gandhi’s citizenship case to July 4. The petition seeks FIR registration and challenges a magistrate court order that dismissed a complaint alleging fraudulent inclusion of her name in the voter list using forged documents.
The revision petition was filed after the magistrate court, on September 11 last year, dismissed a complaint submitted by an individual named Vikas Tripathi. In his complaint, Tripathi had alleged that Sonia Gandhi’s name was included in the voter list through fraudulent documents and sought criminal action in the form of an FIR.
The petitioner has also contested the magistrate court’s decision, arguing that the dismissal of the complaint was not justified and seeking further judicial intervention. The matter, however, could not proceed on its scheduled date and has now been deferred by the Rouse Avenue Court, pushing the next hearing to July 4.
The case continues to draw legal and political attention due to the serious nature of the allegations and the ongoing judicial scrutiny surrounding the revision petition. The outcome of the next hearing is expected to determine the further course of proceedings in this politically sensitive matter.
