According to police officials, Sharma had long suspected an extramarital relationship between his wife and Vikas Bhusare. The accused and Bhusare were reportedly engaged in ongoing tensions marked by frequent arguments. In an earlier development, Bhusare had also filed a complaint alleging molestation against the accused’s wife, which did not resolve the continuing mistrust and hostility between the parties.
Investigators stated that in a premeditated sequence of events driven by anger, Bhimraj Sharma called Vikas Bhusare to his residence in Goregaon. Later that night, Bhimraj Sharma, his wife, and Vikas Bhusare consumed alcohol together. During the gathering, a verbal exchange escalated into a heated argument. The accused reportedly told Bhusare, “Why do you keep coming to my house? Do not appear here again.”
The dispute quickly turned violent when the accused allegedly retrieved a knife from inside the house. In a severe escalation, he stabbed Vikas Bhusare in the neck in front of his wife. Bhusare succumbed to the injury on the spot.
Following the killing, Sharma fled toward the dense forest region of Aarey Colony. Police from Aarey Police Station immediately launched a large-scale search operation, deploying multiple teams to locate the accused. Within three hours of the incident, Sharma was apprehended from the forest area. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. The investigation remains ongoing.
In a separate incident reported from Maharashtra, police registered a case of gang rape against seven individuals following allegations of forced entry into a woman’s home, marking another serious criminal case currently under active investigation by law enforcement authorities.
These twin incidents highlight escalating concerns over violent domestic conflicts and serious sexual offences, underscoring the urgency of swift police response and intensified investigative scrutiny across such high-risk cases.
