Fuel Prices Surge Nationwide: Petrol and Diesel Rates Jump Across India Amid Global Crude Pressure

From 6:00 AM, petrol prices increased by 3.14 rupees per litre, while diesel prices rose by 3.11 rupees per litre across the country. The revised rates were implemented simultaneously at fuel stations nationwide.

In Jaisalmer, petrol is now priced at 109.44 rupees per litre, while diesel has reached 94.75 rupees per litre. Earlier, petrol was available at 106.20 rupees per litre, while diesel was approximately 3 rupees lower than the revised rate. Following the increase, fuel stations began selling at updated prices from the morning, prompting consumers to check revised rates at pumps.

Across Rajasthan, petrol prices rose from 104.31 rupees to 107.45 rupees per litre, while diesel increased from 90.83 rupees to 93.94 rupees per litre, reflecting a notable upward revision across the state.

Market observers and energy sector assessments attribute the surge to global crude oil supply pressures and escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. This marks the first major fuel price increase since 15 March 2024, signaling renewed volatility in energy markets.

The sudden escalation is expected to intensify transportation costs and inflationary pressures, with consumers across regions adjusting to the revised fuel pricing structure.
