NEET Paper Leak Crisis Escalates: Re-Examination Scheduled for June 21 Amid CBI Probe and Major Reform Announcement

The NEET paper leak controversy has led to a re-examination scheduled for June 21, admit cards by June 14, and fee refunds for candidates. With a CBI probe underway, the government announces a shift to computer-based testing from next year to enhance transparency, while students express growing concern over repeated disruptions affecting academic stability and trust in the examination system.

The NEET examination system has entered a new phase of crisis and reform following the paper leak controversy that has triggered nationwide concern. The Education Minister has officially announced that the examination will be re-conducted on June 21, with fresh admit cards scheduled for issuance by June 14, alongside a full refund of examination fees to affected candidates.

The decision comes as the Central Bureau of Investigation continues its inquiry into the alleged paper leak case. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible, as the investigation seeks to uncover the extent of the breach and identify all individuals involved.

In a significant administrative overhaul aimed at restoring credibility, the government has also declared that from next year onward, NEET will transition to a computer-based testing system. This shift will replace the existing optical mark recognition-based examination format, with the objective of strengthening transparency and minimizing the risk of future leaks.

Meanwhile, students across the country continue to express anxiety and frustration over repeated disruptions, stating that ongoing leaks and re-examinations are severely impacting their preparation timelines and future academic planning. Despite this unrest, the government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process through enhanced security measures and structural reforms.
