Kyiv Endures Unprecedented Overnight Aerial Assault as Massive Wave of Drones and Missiles Strikes City

The overnight offensive involved more than 670 attack drones and 56 missiles, including ballistic, aeroballistic, and cruise variants. The scale and intensity of the strike left the city under continuous threat as explosions and air raid alerts persisted for hours without interruption.

Since the previous midnight, Russian forces have reportedly launched more than 1,560 drones targeting multiple Ukrainian cities and communities. Nationwide, air raid alerts remained active for extended durations, forcing residents across the country into shelters and leaving Kyiv largely without sleep during the night of attacks.

On the ground in Kyiv, the aftermath revealed widespread destruction. Visuals from affected areas showed rubble scattered across residential zones, emergency lighting illuminating damaged streets, and rescue workers conducting continuous search and recovery operations under hazardous conditions.

In one residential neighborhood of Kyiv, a nine-story apartment building sustained a direct impact during the assault. A significant portion of the structure collapsed as a result of the strike. Emergency response teams were immediately deployed to the site, where they worked through the night to rescue survivors trapped beneath the debris.

Rescue operations continued amid unstable structural conditions as teams carefully removed rubble and pulled survivors from the wreckage. Authorities maintained an active response throughout the night as efforts focused on locating and saving those affected by the collapse.

The scale of the attack, combined with the extensive damage to civilian infrastructure and the sustained nationwide alert status, underscores the continued intensity of aerial warfare affecting Ukraine’s urban centers.
