Youth Congress Stages Protest in South Mumbai Over Alleged NEET Paper Leak, Demands Parliamentary Probe

Youth Congress staged a protest in south Mumbai outside the State CET Cell office over alleged NEET paper leak, demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe. Leaders alleged large-scale impact on millions of students, called for ministerial resignation, compensation, and raised concerns over NTA appointments. Police detained several protesters amid escalating political tensions and a CBI inquiry into exam irregularities.

A Youth Congress protest was held on Wednesday in south Mumbai over allegations of a question paper leak in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, with demonstrators demanding the constitution of a Joint Parliamentary Committee to investigate the matter. The protest took place outside the State Common Entrance Test Cell office in the Fort area and was led by Mumbai Youth Congress president Zeenat Shabreen.

During the demonstration, participants raised slogans targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central Government, accusing it of failing to safeguard the integrity of national examinations. Zeenat Shabreen alleged that the alleged paper leak had jeopardised the future of nearly 2.4 million students and severely damaged the aspirations of their parents.

She further demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on moral grounds and called for compensation for students affected by the alleged irregularities. Shabreen also urged the formation of a Joint Parliamentary Committee to conduct a comprehensive and detailed investigation into the issue.

In her allegations, Shabreen stated that the former Director General of the National Testing Agency, during whose tenure the 2024 NEET paper leak was allegedly reported, was subsequently appointed as principal adviser to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, raising further questions regarding administrative accountability.
