Galgotias University Hosts Lt General KJS Dhillon for Strategic Leadership and National Preparedness Session
Galgotias University hosted Lt General KJS Dhillon for an extensive interaction on leadership, discipline, national preparedness, artificial intelligence in defence, cybersecurity, and India’s evolving strategic role. The session brought together students across disciplines for discussions on resilience, innovation, and future-ready leadership.
The interaction brought together students and faculty from multiple academic disciplines and focused on critical issues shaping India’s future leadership landscape. During the session, Lt General Dhillon shared insights from his decades-long service in the Indian Army, including his leadership experiences in high-pressure operational environments and strategically important regions across the country.
Drawing from real-life military situations, he spoke in detail about decision-making under uncertainty, the importance of discipline and teamwork, technological transformation in warfare, and the need to prepare young people for an increasingly complex and unpredictable global environment. He also highlighted the growing role of emerging technologies and the changing nature of modern defence systems.
The discussion witnessed active participation from students representing engineering, law, management, liberal arts, and media studies. Students engaged with Lt General Dhillon on subjects including artificial intelligence in defence systems, cybersecurity challenges, ethics in modern warfare, misinformation, national preparedness, and leadership during times of crisis.
Lt General Dhillon praised the enthusiasm, discipline, and engagement displayed by the students throughout the session. He particularly acknowledged the Guard of Honour presented by the NCC wing of Galgotias University, appreciating the discipline, coordination, and professionalism demonstrated by the cadets.
Reflecting on his visit, Lt General Dhillon stated that the warmth, curiosity, discipline, and sense of purpose he witnessed across the campus had deeply impressed him. He remarked that he was leaving Galgotias University as “a better person” after interacting with the university community.
Speaking during the event, Dr. Dhruv Galgotia said that leadership today is being shaped in an era defined by technological disruption, geopolitical uncertainty, and rapidly changing social realities. He noted that interactions with leaders such as Lt General KJS Dhillon provide students with opportunities to understand leadership, resilience, responsibility, and national service beyond textbooks and classroom learning.
Lt General Dhillon also held discussions with members of the university leadership regarding the growing importance of interdisciplinary learning, innovation ecosystems, emerging technologies, and the role educational institutions can play in preparing future-ready leaders for the country.
