NEET UG 2026 Cancelled Amid Paper Leak Allegations; CBI Probe Ordered, Fresh Exam Date to Be Announced
NEET UG 2026 examination has been cancelled after allegations of a paper leak, prompting a Central Bureau of Investigation probe. The exam, held on 3 May with nearly 22 lakh candidates, will be rescheduled. The National Testing Agency confirmed that candidates need not reapply or pay any additional fees, and a fresh date will be announced soon.
The examination was conducted on 3 May and witnessed participation from approximately 22 lakh candidates nationwide. Following reports of irregularities and the suspected leak of examination material, authorities were compelled to take immediate corrective action, resulting in the cancellation of the test.
In response to the incident, the Central Bureau of Investigation has been directed to conduct a comprehensive probe into the alleged paper leak. The investigation aims to identify those responsible and examine the extent of the breach in examination security protocols.
The National Testing Agency has issued an official statement confirming that a revised examination schedule will be announced soon. It further clarified that candidates will not be required to fill out application forms again, nor will any fresh registration be necessary. Additionally, no extra examination fee will be charged from the candidates for the rescheduled test.
Authorities have assured that all eligible candidates will be accommodated in the upcoming examination cycle without procedural or financial burden, as efforts continue to restore credibility and transparency in the examination process.
