Ravindra Jadeja Retains Top Spot as ICC Men’s Test All-Rounder Rankings Updated for December 2025
The ICC released its updated Men’s Test All-Rounder Rankings on 4 December 2025, with India’s Ravindra Jadeja retaining the No. 1 position. The list highlights major movements across the top ten, featuring Marco Jansen, Ben Stokes, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and others, along with their current and career-best ratings.
Jadeja, who has long been a mainstay of India’s Test setup, holds the No. 1 position with a rating of 455. His career-best mark of 475, achieved against Bangladesh in Chennai in 2024, remains one of the highest benchmarks for a contemporary all-rounder. South Africa’s Marco Jansen stays firmly in second place with 344 rating points, matching his career peak reached earlier this year against India at Guwahati in 2025.
England captain Ben Stokes, despite limited Test appearances this season, occupies third place with 308 rating points. His towering career-best rating of 497—recorded at Old Trafford against the West Indies in 2020—continues to stand out as one of the era’s finest all-round performances. Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz follows closely at No. 4 with 299 points, complemented by his 2025 career-highest of 327 against Zimbabwe at Chittagong.
Australia features prominently in the middle tier of the rankings. Mitchell Starc holds fifth position with 295 rating points, though his career-best 346—secured against India at Pune in 2017—remains his standout performance. His compatriot Pat Cummins sits sixth with a current rating of 260, a significant step below his own high of 339 achieved at Lord’s against England in 2019.
South Africa’s Wiaan Mulder is ranked seventh with 245 points, supported by a career-best 284 posted earlier in 2025 against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo. England’s Joe Root, who continues to make a case as one of the finest Test batters of his generation while contributing as a part-time all-rounder, is positioned at No. 8 with 231 points. Root once touched a peak of 313 against India at Hyderabad in 2024.
New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner occupies ninth place with 221 points, only slightly below the career-best 226 he achieved in Bulawayo against Zimbabwe this year. England’s Gus Atkinson rounds off the top ten at 211, with his personal highest rating of 246 coming at Trent Bridge against Zimbabwe in 2025.
The latest update underscores the evolving nature of all-rounder roles across Test cricket, with established stars continuing to anchor their teams while emerging players push steadily upward. As nations prepare for next year’s global Test commitments, the rankings provide a timely measure of consistency, form, and long-term impact across the sport’s most demanding format
