November 2026 Stock Market Holidays: BSE, NSE Trading Schedule and Muhurat Timings
BSE and NSE will observe two weekday holidays in November 2026, while Muhurat Trading is scheduled for November 8. Check the complete stock market holiday calendar, MCX timings and special trading schedule.
Of the 11 non-trading days in November, nine will fall on Saturdays and Sundays, while the remaining two will be regular weekday market holidays. Investors will not be able to conduct normal equity market transactions on November 10 and November 24.
On November 10, trading will remain suspended across equity, equity derivatives and currency derivatives segments on the BSE. The same restrictions will apply on November 24 for Guru Nanak Dev's birth anniversary. Trading in NDS-RST and Tri-party Repo segments will also remain closed on both dates.
However, commodity derivatives and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segments will not remain completely closed. Their morning sessions will be suspended, while evening trading will continue.
The morning session will remain closed from 9 am to 5 pm. The evening session will operate from 5 pm until 11:30 pm or 11:55 pm.
The NSE will also suspend trading in equity, equity derivatives, currency derivatives and interest rate derivatives on November 10 and November 24. Other affected segments and platforms will include the Negotiated Trade Reporting Platform, Mutual Funds, Securities Lending and Borrowing Scheme, Corporate Bonds and the New Debt Segment.
Trading in commodity derivatives and EGR segments will remain suspended during the morning session but resume in the evening. Investors will be able to trade in these segments from 5 pm until 11:30 pm or 11:55 pm.
The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will follow a similar schedule on both holidays. Trading will remain closed during the morning session on November 10 and November 24, while the evening session will operate from 5 pm until 11:30 pm or 11:55 pm.
Meanwhile, November 8 will offer investors an opportunity to participate in the special Muhurat Trading session on the occasion of Diwali Lakshmi Puja. Although regular stock market trading will not take place that day, the BSE and NSE will conduct a one-hour special trading session.
Muhurat Trading is traditionally considered an auspicious occasion in the stock market, with investors buying and selling shares as part of the tradition. Exchanges have scheduled separate timings for different trading activities during the special session.
Trading members will be able to log in between 1:15 pm and 1:50 pm, followed by the block deal window from 1:50 pm to 2:05 pm. The pre-open session will take place from 2:05 pm to 2:15 pm, while the main trading session will run from 2:20 pm to 3:30 pm.
The periodic call auction will be conducted between 2:25 pm and 3:20 pm. Closing auction activities are scheduled from 3:15 pm to 3:35 pm, followed by the closing session for non-CAS securities from 3:30 pm to 3:50 pm. The closing buffer period for CAS securities will run from 3:35 pm to 3:50 pm, while the post-closing session will take place between 3:50 pm and 4 pm.
After the November holidays, the next major public market holiday this year will fall on December 25, when the BSE and NSE will remain closed for Christmas.
Investors and traders should mark November 8, November 10 and November 24 on their calendars to avoid disruptions to their trading plans. Commodity market participants, in particular, will need to account for the suspension of morning trading sessions on both November holidays, despite evening trading remaining operational.
