Statue of Unity Tourism Gets a Boost as IRCTC Unveils 127-Room Hotel in Ektanagar
IRCTC is set to open a 127-room hotel near Ektanagar railway station on October 31, 2026. Find out how the Rs 52.50 crore project could transform accommodation options for Statue of Unity tourists and boost local businesses.
Built at a cost of approximately Rs 52.50 crore, the hotel is expected to strengthen tourism in the region and provide a boost to local businesses.
The new IRCTC hotel has been constructed on approximately two acres of land and features 127 rooms divided into four categories. Designed to cater to the needs of tourists, the property offers several modern amenities, including a restaurant, cafeteria, banquet hall, conference facilities and a swimming pool.
The hotel premises have also been developed with an attractive layout. Its location near Ektanagar railway station is expected to make access easier, particularly for tourists arriving by train. Visitors travelling to the Statue of Unity and other nearby tourist attractions will have another accommodation option within the area.
More than three crore tourists have visited the Statue of Unity so far, reflecting the growing popularity of Ektanagar as a tourist destination. The steady rise in visitor numbers has increased the need to expand hotels and other tourism-related facilities in the region.
The new hotel is expected to address part of this demand by providing visitors with improved accommodation facilities. With additional lodging options, tourists may be encouraged to extend their stay in Ektanagar instead of completing their visits within a single day. This could also benefit other tourist attractions in the surrounding areas.
Beyond tourism, the hotel is expected to create employment opportunities for local residents. Its operations will require staff for housekeeping, food services, hotel management and other activities.
The anticipated increase in tourist movement could also benefit local shopkeepers, taxi operators, food businesses and other service providers in the area.
With its inauguration scheduled for October 31, 2026, the IRCTC hotel marks an expansion of accommodation infrastructure near the Statue of Unity. The 127-room property is expected to support the growing number of tourists visiting Ektanagar while creating additional opportunities for local businesses and employment.
