Modi Not Leaving Slogan Sparks Congress Taunt During PM's Gujarat Visit
PM Narendra Modi's Gujarat visit witnessed political sparring after chants of 'Modi nahi jayenge' prompted a sharp response from Congress leader Pawan Khera, amid major development announcements worth over Rs 14,000 crore.
The slogan was raised as Prime Minister Modi posed for a group photograph and interacted with a group of students and others present at the facility. Reacting to the development, Congress leader Pawan Khera took a dig at the Prime Minister, saying, “You wish!”
Taking his remarks further, Khera said, “Hey, for now, the boss won't even go to Parliament. Let the Parliament session start, and you'll see a mad rush to flee the country and the world!”
The exchange comes days after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge triggered controversy with his remark, “Modi ka baap bhi jayega”. The statement was made during a speech at an event in Patna, after a member of the audience interrupted him and said that the Prime Minister would not go anywhere.
PM Modi's Two-Day Gujarat Visit
Prime Minister Modi visited the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre at Bhildi in Banaskantha district as part of his two-day Gujarat visit. The 127-acre facility focuses on improving the breeding and genetics of the Kankrej cattle breed.
The Centre of Excellence is equipped to promote advanced reproductive technologies, with breed improvement expected to accelerate by 10-20 times. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi were also present during the visit.
The visit was part of a broader programme under which the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth more than Rs 14,000 crore across Gujarat. He also released the 24th instalment of PM-KISAN, amounting to Rs 19,000 crore.

Ahmedabad's metro network is set to expand through two projects covering the airport and GIFT City.
Under Phase-2A, the metro network will connect Koteshwar Road to the airport through five stations spread across more than 6 km. Phase-2B will establish a connection between GIFT City and Shahpur through three stations covering 3.3 km.
Another major infrastructure project involves widening the Ahmedabad-Mehsana Road (State Highway-41) from four lanes to eight lanes. The project, estimated to cost around Rs 2,600 crore, is expected to improve connectivity between Ahmedabad and North Gujarat.

Gujarat's dairy sector is also set to receive two Bio-CNG plants operated by Banas Dairy at Tharad and Radhanpur. The facilities will process 75 metric tonnes and 100 metric tonnes of cattle dung per day, respectively.
In another initiative focused on childcare infrastructure, 4,030 new child-friendly Anganwadi centres are planned across the state, while 361 completed centres will be inaugurated. The Rs 800-crore initiative is expected to benefit more than four lakh people.
The Prime Minister's Gujarat visit combined major infrastructure announcements, dairy-sector initiatives and childcare development projects, while the political exchange over the “Modi nahi jayenge” slogan added a political dimension to the programme.
