Walk4Dyslexia 2026 brought hundreds to Delhi's Kartavya Path as Union Minister Harsh Malhotra, JK Cement MD Raghavpat Singhania and participating organisations called for greater awareness and inclusion.
The walk was inaugurated by Shri Harsh Malhotra, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Corporate Affairs, in the presence of Shri Tarun Vijay, former Member of Parliament. Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director of JK Cement Ltd, also participated in the initiative alongside other representatives and supporters.
The event was organised through a collaborative effort involving Brilliantly Dyslexic, an initiative of JKC Foundation; Orkids Foundation; ChangeInkk Foundation; Soch Foundation; and Uttarakhand Dyslexia Association. Among those present were Dr. Raghavpat Singhania and Mrs. Sonam Singhania, Founders of Brilliantly Dyslexic; Dr. Andleeb Jain and Meenakshi Sahni from the initiative; and Dr. Geet Oberoi, Founder of Orkids Foundation.
Wearing red T-shirts and caps, participants walked along Kartavya Path carrying banners and placards highlighting the importance of dyslexia awareness. The gathering focused on recognising different learning needs, challenging misconceptions and encouraging greater understanding of dyslexia.
Addressing the participants, Shri Harsh Malhotra stressed the importance of early identification and timely support for children with dyslexia. He highlighted the responsibility of parents, educators and institutions in recognising individual learning needs and providing appropriate guidance. He also noted that children with dyslexia can excel across fields when they receive the right support and equal opportunities.
Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, MD, JK Cement Ltd, called for greater awareness among parents, teachers and corporates, pointing out that misconceptions about dyslexia continue to persist. Emphasising that dyslexia is not a disease, he described it as a form of “out-of-the-box thinking” and highlighted the need to recognise the strengths, abilities and potential of individuals with dyslexia.
The participating organisations collectively underlined the importance of building an inclusive ecosystem that supports individuals with dyslexia throughout different stages of life, including school education, higher education and the workplace. Through their collaborative efforts, the organisations aim to improve understanding, encourage acceptance and ensure that individuals with dyslexia can access the support and opportunities required to realise their potential.
Extending the awareness campaign beyond Kartavya Path, Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate and the National War Memorial were also illuminated in red as part of the wider observance of Dyslexia Awareness Month. The initiative brought the message of dyslexia awareness to prominent national landmarks, reinforcing the importance of recognising learning differences and creating an inclusive society in which individuals with dyslexia receive support to develop their abilities and pursue their aspirations.
