Indian Railways has exceeded several Special Campaign 6 targets ahead of its October 31, 2026, deadline. Rail Jan Samvaad was held at 5,884 stations to gather passenger feedback on cleanliness, amenities and service delivery.
Gorakhpur, October 29, 2026: Indian Railways has intensified efforts to meet the objectives of Special Campaign 6, which is being implemented from October 2 to October 31, 2026. With the campaign nearing its conclusion, the national transporter has exceeded several key targets under the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM-6), with achievements across multiple administrative and operational areas.
The campaign has focused on cleanliness, scrap disposal, e-waste management, the timely disposal of pending matters and process simplification. These efforts form a significant part of Indian Railways' participation in the nationwide initiative, aimed at improving resource management and administrative efficiency.
A major public-centric initiative under the campaign was Rail Jan Samvaad, organised on October 22, 2026, at 5,884 railway stations across the country. The programme facilitated direct interaction with passengers, enabling railway officials to gather feedback and suggestions on cleanliness, passenger amenities and service delivery.
Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board, Shri Satish Kumar, interacted with stakeholders at New Delhi as part of the initiative. Secretary, DARPG, also participated in the programme at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai.
The interactions provided an opportunity to identify local issues raised by passengers and initiate suitable follow-up action to improve railway services. By engaging directly with passengers across thousands of stations, the initiative sought to bring passenger concerns into the process of service improvement.
As Special Campaign 6 approaches its scheduled conclusion on October 31, 2026, Indian Railways continues to focus on consolidating the achievements recorded during the campaign and sustaining the best practices adopted throughout its implementation.
The continuing emphasis remains on cleanliness, efficient resource management, the timely disposal of pending matters and improved passenger services, alongside efforts to maintain the progress achieved during the campaign.
